Shiba Inu's Massive Transfer Stuns Turkish Exchange
A staggering transaction involving 2,884,590,622,344 Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens has caught the attention of Turkey’s crypto community. According to U.Today, this enormous transfer was detected by Whale Alert and involved BTCTurk—Turkey's second-largest centralized cryptocurrency exchange. The SHIB coins were moved from BTCTurk to an anonymous wallet with a fiat equivalent value of $65,703,762.
The move sparked speculation among crypto enthusiasts about its purpose. However, BTCTurk clarified that it was merely an internal operation aimed at optimizing their wallets. Despite these assurances from the exchange itself stating "there is nothing out of the ordinary," some in the community continue to wonder if there might be more behind such significant movements.
DMM Bitcoin Hacked: SBI VC Trade Steps In
In Japan, DMM Bitcoin—a hacked cryptocurrency exchange—is transitioning its assets and customer accounts to SBI VC Trade following a severe security breach earlier this year. As reported by Cointelegraph on December 25th, DMM suffered losses when hackers stole approximately $320 million worth of Bitcoin back in May.
This incident has been linked to North Korea’s TraderTraitor group according to investigations conducted by international authorities including the FBI and Japan’s National Police Agency. With plans for completion set for March next year and automatic account creation for existing users without additional steps required on their part; customers are expected to seamlessly transition to using services provided through SBI instead as they work towards recovery post-breach damages.
