Ex-Educators Launch Xelaris to Equip Kids with AI, Blockchain, and Web3 Skills

Sam Eseyin and Malik Gwandu, both former educators at Synthesis, Springboard, and Ideal Robotics, have launched Xelaris, an education startup focused on giving children a head start in emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and Web3. Their experience includes teaching thousands of students and integrating coding into the curriculum of over 150 schools, particularly through their work at Ideal Robotics, one of Nigeria’s largest K–12 coding education providers.

The Xelaris program is designed for children as young as 10, emphasizing hands-on learning, real-world problem-solving, and exposure to technologies like TensorFlow and computer vision libraries. The teaching team is highly selective, accepting only the top 2 percent of applicants based on technical and teaching assessments. Recent leadership additions include Aisha Abdukadir (School of Software Engineering), Casweeney Ojukwu (School of Blockchain and Web3), and Emilia Zhang (School of Artificial Intelligence), each bringing significant industry and educational experience.

Students at Xelaris are already building impactful projects:

  • Zoja Ivanovic (10) is developing VirusRule, a platform for learning about viruses, vaccines, and virologists through games and quizzes.
  • Owen Li (11) created LifelineDonations, a donation app to help cover urgent medical expenses.
  • Fedir Piatoval (12) launched Toycycle, a web app for buying and selling new and used toys.
  • Nikolas Goncharova (11) built ImpactFund, a web app simplifying donations to important causes.
  • Zach Richardson (14) is streamlining his school’s uniform store website for easier updates and purchases.

The program has achieved a 98 percent retention rate and now serves students from 11 countries, all through parent referrals. Classes are conducted live in one-on-one sessions, tailored to each child’s learning style and interests. According to Sam Eseyin, “We believe that the next generation of innovators, startup founders, and problem-solvers are already here. They are just 10, 11, or 12 right now.”
